What is Overcome Depression?

Overcome Depression is a series of guided meditations that are specially designed to deal the cognitive aspects behind depression. It is based on the leading work into depression carried out by Dr. Martin Seligman, Dr. Michael Yapko, Dr. Richard Bandler, Ted James and others.

It works by taking the listener into a light trance using guided meditation techniques that then enable us to work through the common issues that surround people who suffer from depression. Depression is the result of imbalances of brain chemicals, and in particular neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin. However, much of depression is behavioural and cognitive. Assuming an individual is eating a balanced diet, he or she will have all the basic building blocks to create the chemicals necessary to function normally. The focus must therefore be on helping you alter the cognitive patterns that have led you in the past into the downwards spiral of depression. By going into a meditative state we can work together with the subconscious which controls many of the behaviours (physical and cognitive) that we have.

Why is it better?

The Overcome Depression series is an excellent way of enabling you to overcome depression.

  • It is a single product the cost is limited and the product guaranteed. If you go to a psychiatrist or psychologist you have no such guarantee.
  • It is fast. The Overcome Depression series works in just three hours of listening. There are no medications, no need to experiment with different kinds of medication. And no uncertainty.
  • It is holistic. There are other recording products on the market which claim to cure depression. These are very much one shot wonders. Although their success rate is reasonably high they lack the holistic approach of the Overcome Depression series, which looks at every aspect of depression and deals with it, so there is no possibility of failure.

What’s in the program?

The programme is divided into six different audio recordings, each recording (lasting approximately 30 minutes) deals with a different aspect of depression.

Track 1: Goal setting and creating joy is connected with positive intentions – seeking a more productive and happier way of resolving issues than being depressed and it lets you set a goal of overcoming depression – becoming happy and fulfilled in your life. This is a vital step as many people with depression are unable to form goals, or unable to feel that they can achieve these goals. This is significant because the part of the brain which causes happiness (prefrontal lobe) is connected with goal setting. EMR scans demonstrate that there is practically no form of activity in this part of the brain in people who are depressed, and it is possible to measure people’s happiness by scanning this section.

Track 2:  Taking the sting out of the past deals specifically with any trauma which may surround your depression. It often happens that the initial trigger for depression is some traumatic experience. This recording uses the NLP trauma cure to enable you to represent the experience to yourself in a non-traumatic way. Having removed this trigger for depression it becomes significantly harder to be depressed or feel depressed, because the oppression has lifted.

Track 3:  Coming to terms with your emotions heals your emotions. This builds on the work of the previous recording and looks at some of the common emotional difficulties that people with depression struggle with. These emotions are sadness, guilt and loneliness. Having healed these emotions you will feel much better and quite different.

Track 4: Transforming from within is extremely powerful and enables you to explore who you really are and what you really want. This listening has two powerful aims, one to discover who you really are, and two explore whether depression serves you as the person you are. The effects of this are often dramatic and it is powerful enough that often by itself it is sufficient to overcome depression.

Track 5: Strategy for success makes use of the brain’s neuroplasticity. The mind is malleable and what we do becomes habitual. This listening is a mental rehearsal for positive thinking. When people have depression one of the most common things for them to do is to begin looping a negative thought cycle by which they think something negative, feel bad and think something more negative about themselves. They continue this cycle until they feel thoroughly miserable. The really disturbing thing is that it this happens subconsciously, automatically and without them being aware of it! This listening rehearses a different pattern which enables you to evaluate your own negative thoughts, so you know what is justified, what is useful criticism and how to respond to this in an empowering way.

Track 6: Describing your future. By this stage the chances are you have already overcome your depression.
This final recording is to help you keep up the good work and stay happy. It looks at long term goals and lets you explore what sort of things in the long run will make you happy. It lets you analyse the sort of mistakes you might make in the future and how to avoid them. This final listening is really giving you a map, a compass and a destination and teaching you how to use them to find where you are and how you are going to get to where you want to go, by the nicest route possible.

How to use it:

Prepare to go to bed and play a single recording as you go to sleep. The recordings use binaural tones and calming, meditative music to lull you into a relaxed, comfortable state, listen to the words and just follow your thoughts as you listen to this guided meditation. In most cases you will go into a deep trance which then turns into a comfortable deep sleep that will last the night.

If you are suffering from severe depression you can listen to all the recordings in a single sitting.

How long before I notice a change?

Most people and their families notice a change after they have listened to all the tapes once. However, some people need to do hear some recordings before they listen to others, for this reason it is often beneficial to listen to the entire series several times for people to get the full benefit of the recordings.

About the program designer

Peter was drawn to NLP after using several of the techniques to deal with traumatic experiences in his own life and to overcome his own depression. He has been working as a consultant since 2010 and written articles and two books on different aspects of NLP and popular psychology.     This is just a fantastic product. I got real sick after some work place bullying. And I mean real sick. I couldn’t get up. I thought I had some nasty flu and went to the doctor. He said I was depressed and wrote out a proscription for some drugs. I asked him how long it would take to fix me. He said it would take two weeks if I was lucky, six months if I wasn’t. I thought screw that I have work to do. So I did some searching online and discovered cogniscient nlp and this download. I listened to all the recordings twice a day for about a week and it pulled me out of the depression and I was able to get back to work. I quite the job as soon as I could but on my terms and wasn’t forced out because of a stupid manager. This saved me alot of money and alot of time.
